Code Overview
The Helios Code of Conduct sets practical expectations for how users should behave while building, learning, buying, selling, collaborating, and sharing knowledge across the manufacturing community.
What the Code Covers
Code of Conduct Sections
01 Be RespectfulInteract with courtesy, professionalism, and respect across the Helios community. +
Helios expects members to communicate professionally and constructively, even when opinions differ.
- Treat people the way you’d like to be treated — with courtesy and professionalism.
- Healthy debates are welcome; harassment, hate speech, bullying, and intimidation are not.
- Avoid offensive or inflammatory remarks that could create conflict.
Violation examples
- A user repeatedly sends aggressive messages to an expert after receiving a quote they disagree with.
- A discussion thread about tooling options turns into personal insults instead of a professional debate.
- A company contact pressures a supplier publicly with inflammatory language after a project delay.
Practical guidance
Keep feedback specific to the work, issue, or transaction. Avoid personal attacks, threats, insults, and public shaming.
02 Be Honest & AuthenticUse truthful identity, credentials, professional details, and original or properly credited work. +
Trust on Helios depends on accurate representation of people, companies, skills, credentials, and submitted work.
- Use your real name, credentials, and professional details.
- Don’t impersonate anyone or mislead others about who you are or what you do.
- Share accurate information and give credit where it’s due.
- Never plagiarize or copy someone else’s work.
Violation examples
- An expert lists certifications they do not hold to win a manufacturing consultation.
- A user creates a profile using another company’s name and logo to appear affiliated with that company.
- A member copies another expert’s training material and posts it as their own guide.
Practical guidance
Use accurate names, affiliations, qualifications, work samples, and ownership claims. When referencing another person’s work, obtain permission and provide proper attribution.
03 Keep It Safe & LegalOnly share lawful, safe, appropriate, and authorized content or activity on Helios. +
Helios is designed to support responsible manufacturing activity. Content or conduct that creates legal, safety, or serious platform risk is not allowed.
- Only post content you have the right to share.
- Don’t post anything illegal, violent, hateful, or explicit.
- Avoid promoting counterfeit products, forced labor, human trafficking, or harmful activities.
- Don’t upload malware, phishing links, or hacking tools.
Violation examples
- A user posts a service offering that promotes counterfeit industrial components.
- A member uploads a file that contains malicious code disguised as manufacturing software documentation.
- A listing asks for help producing a restricted item without the required legal approvals.
Practical guidance
Before posting, confirm that the content, files, products, services, and requested work are lawful, authorized, and safe for the intended audience.
04 No Spam or Platform AbuseDo not spam users, abuse discovery tools, manipulate ratings, or exploit platform vulnerabilities. +
Helios should remain useful, relevant, and reliable for the manufacturing community.
- Don’t send mass messages, repeated promotions, or irrelevant ads.
- Share content that adds value to the manufacturing community.
- Don’t try to game ratings, reviews, or search results.
- Report platform bugs responsibly instead of exploiting them.
Violation examples
- A supplier sends the same promotional message to dozens of unrelated experts and customers.
- A user creates multiple accounts to inflate ratings or push a listing higher in search results.
- A member discovers a platform bug and uses it to access features or data they should not access.
Practical guidance
Share relevant, high-value content. Report bugs or platform weaknesses responsibly instead of using them for advantage.
05 Respect Intellectual PropertyUpload only content you own, created, licensed, or are authorized to use. +
Helios users must respect copyrights, trademarks, confidential work, and protected materials.
- Upload only content you created or have permission to use.
- Honor copyrights, trademarks, and other protected materials.
- If you think someone’s content infringes on your rights, follow our Copyright & Infringement Policy to report it.
- When you use someone’s work legally, such as with permission or under fair use, give proper credit.
Violation examples

- A profile uses another company’s trademarked logo in a way that falsely suggests endorsement.
